Tom Petty RIP

Huge fan, very saddened by his loss. I wonder what Mike Campbell and the rest of the band will do now that they’ve lost Tom.
I caught on to the Heartbreakers by their 2nd Album and have been a fan ever since.
I’ve seen them in concert a few times as well.
I had to play the song Southern Accent a few times yesterday when I heard he was close to death.
I think the lyrics speak volumes about his love of the South and his Florida ‘drawl’ being part and parcel of him no matter where he was traveling and playing music.
My thoughts and prayers for his family and the band......
And yes Tom, health advise well taken with regards to Cardiac monitoring.... [scared]

One of my top ten favorites- was very sorry to hear.  Was a fan since I heard Breakdown for the first time and think he was one of the best musician/songwriters we will ever see.  Thoughts and prayers to his family and the Heartbreakers.

I love Tom Pretty... For a handful of his mainstream songs, but mostly for his involvement in the Traveling Wilburys and a few of the songs in his more recent band 'Mudcrutch'..'Lover of the Bayou' is a frickin awesome song!

Too bad to lose another.  I liked a lot of his music. Almost went to see him this summer.  I had previously seen him in 1987 .

"Wildflowers" is pretty high on my list of favorite albums. I missed him when he came through town a few months ago. I told myself that I'd make sure to finally see him live the next time he was in the area. It's another lesson to never wait for "next time" to do something you want to do.

Forgot about that one. Petty sounds just like George Harrison, Dhani looks just his dad and the musicianship is awesome by all on one of George's masterpieces. Sadly, George, Tom and Prince are all gone, each one from all too common killers, cancer, cardiac arrest and drugs, each dying well before their time, all are missed.

I am not getting political, but wanted to add that besides the 3 musicians listed above having died too early as well as from an all too  common killer, I'll mention John Lennon getting shot from a disturbed lunatic. Way too familiar.
 
I watched this again this morning and just couldn’t help but smile seeing 6 guitarists on stage at the same time.  [cool]
