Good Morning!!
I can't believe that anyone else has been having the same thoughts as I have regarding the Kapex.
I was almost afraid to post this thought for fear of causing an uproar.
There are so many great things about the saw and many not so great.

I see this is your first post. Welcome to the forum. If you look at post #3 in this thread (which I have included in quotes in my respons) you'll see several members are concerned about posting negative feedback on tools due to some recent uproars on the forum. We need to stop this.

I've been here for a long time (since the beginning) and want people to know it is okay to post negative threads on Festools and not feel like they are going to get slammed by the RAH-RAH crowd.

..... I was cutting a piece of 4/4x10" Bubinga and the blade started cutting off the line as I slid it to the back. I think the blade was bending to the right. .....

4 x 4 bubinga?    That is a a thick piece of some very hard tropical wood!  Could the blade just not been sharp enough to cut that? 

Bubinga has a specific gravity and weight well beyond that of hard maple and red oak.  It's some of the hardest wood I've ever used, and that includes purple heart and ebony.

I find the power switch to be awkward, but keep telling myself that it is a safety feature.  Better to have trouble turning it on than have it go on when it shouldn't.   Other than that, it is pretty much what I hoped for.  Of course, I only paid $1,050 for it.  $1,300?  Don't know about that.

I found the comment that the dust collection on the Dewalt 12" was just as good to be amusing.  Perhaps we had different Dewalt 12"s, but mine caught almost nothing.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback!
I do see the benifits of posting negative comments in a constructive way!
Everyone approaches the ergonomic aspect of a tool in a differently. I have
a real problem with some of the hand positions and grip/switch locations with
many tools. Fortunatly, Festool has given this problem much thought and the Kapex is
the only tool I have had a real problem with. Much credit to the company for the 30 day trial period.

Thanks to Brice for the chuckle! I had a good one myself when I tried it your way!!

I'm glad to be with the FOG group and I enjoy the 'many eyes on one tool' point of view!
