Hi, any suggestions for rolling tool drawers similar to Bott Cubio but available in the US?

I'm considering using a bench height tool drawer cabinet like Bott Cubio for a drill press stand, or something 8020 custom that can take a combination of systainers rails and regular drawers for mechanics tools.

It looks like Bott doesn't readily sell in the US anymore and I'd like something high quality and solid if I go that route. The modular expandability of the Cubio was attractive as well.

Stanley/Vidmar used to be a customer of mine.  It was considered the gold standard for industrial grade tool drawer cabinets.

I believe Stanley sold the division, but they are still in production.  Ghastly expensive, but used cabinets are often available.  (These are good for 50 years’ use.)

Thanks I just found that and am looking at some threads on that brand. It won't let me delete my post though.

We have an industrial storage drawer unit that looks similar to that, I don't recall the brand though?
It came from an auction a few years ago and has been storing router bits in the tool/supply room since.
I'll check into the brand next week.

Looking at these prices for Vidmar, I'm probably going to want to look around on some goverment auction sites to try and buy used as well.

[member=76715]ironchefboyardee[/member] as you've noticed, Vidmar are the Cadillac of storage solutions and priced accordingly. Even at auction they can command high prices.

Many folks (including me ) have opted for a mechanics tool cabinet for shop storage. There are several brands and price ranges. Snap on is the top tier choice.

Harbor Freight makes a decent line of tool cabinets at pretty good prices. Are they Snap on? No but for the price they are good quality. The current models are 22 inches deep.

I have this one and have been pleased with it.

Thanks Ron. I'll check them out. I originally was going to just get a typical tool chest but I like how these cabinets are available in more sizes. For example I couldn't find a relatively short/narrow Snap On.

For anyone else looking at this in the future, it looks like Lista is another option.

I also have two of the Husky ones [member=69275]Adamsse[/member] linked.

Picked up one on sale one Black Friday a few years back for $298. Like it so I got another one last year. Haven’t seen that good of a sale on them recently. I think I paid 430 for the last one.

Lista & Vidmar are equivalents and Lista used to be manufactured in Switzerland.

A step down is Equipto, produced in the US and they remain a great alternative to the others.https://www.equipto.com/modular-drawer-cabinets/

Also Kennedy is a reputable manufacturer although the options are small compared to the others. However, they can be found on sale more often from the industrial supply houses. My metal lathe sits on a Kennedy wooden top, metal workbench that has storage space & storage drawers underneath. Nice to have everything together.https://buykennedy.com/shop/

The problem with "tool boxes" in a case where the industrial storage cabinets is concerned is that they usually have deeper drawers at the bottom. If you are storing small objects in divided partitions, where they are all of similar size, that deep drawer is a waste of space.
The one we have is similar to those in Packard's first link, other than color, it is gray. The drawers are something like 3" deep and all the same.
For small objects, the side cabinet is a good idea, but still has the deeper bottom drawer. I have one, that used to be in the shop where I work. I did not have a rolling cabinet at that time, so it sat on the bench, next to the matching upper. I don't remember it costing anywhere near that much though? This would have been in '07-'08, so...
I still have it, in my garage at home, likely to get incorporated into the shop as I flesh it out over the summer.
