Tool footnotes

I always liked the fact that people on this forum can express themselves how ever they like without judgement.

I thought having your Festool tools listed in your signature was useful when soliciting advice about a particular project.  People replying will know what tools you have available, but it sounds like a lot of people completely ignore the signatures so maybe it's not that useful.

The footnotes where users listed their current line up was actually interesting about 10 or 12 years ago. If you already had 4 or 5 Festools and 6 or 7 systainers, you were considered halfway drunk on green KoolAid. It was just a way to show off a bit, and it still may be. Fairly useless now tho, as many of us are in deep and less impressed by the volume of any collection

I was curious what others thought. The style may have begun years ago as a bit of fun, but now it looks vulgar to me - too much like someone trying to look like something they are not ... more of a collector than a user. I judge a woodworker by what they build and not by the tools they own. Or by the quality and insight of the advice they offer.
