Some errors in that list w.r.t categories.

Kind of shocking to see how these prices keep going up.

Makes me feel good about buying the Makita cordless track saw as well as the Makita 118" rail. Those 2 items cost me $675 total. Festool equivalent for those 2 items will be $1315. Love the Makita. Not sure I would love the Festool equivalent costing almost double.

You know that $50 we saved with the vouchers, they want it back...plus interest. [blink]

Or the paper catalog that was released every two years, and the prices that got changed every one year.

The Trion became cheaper after I bought it . That one got reduced a fair bit after the first Carvex was released.

The example I saw was for the Festool DF 700 XL EQ Plus Domino Joiner Set for
$1,430.00, which will increase $70.00 to $1,500.00 after February.

That certainly makes the $1156 I recently spent for a reconditioned DF 700 appear to be a stroke of genius. [big grin]

I have been considering purchasing a ts 75 for a while now but honestly, rather than jump to purchase it now, I'm more considering the dewalt track saw which can run on the same rails (which I already own for my of 1400). Festool has always been the highest price point in the market, and for some of their tools, they seem over priced. Others are actually quite justifiable when you consider the time savings that some of the features offer compared to the competition... What this price jump will do is close the gap between me justifiably spending double the money to get all the great accessories that come with a festool system, or deciding not to fund a company that is raising their prices to an even higher point than they already are above the competition without adding anything additional. I have no problem paying more if they are offering more, but the other brands who's prices are staying the same have products that are improving. Festool is offering the same quality and keeps raising their price.

From my experience buying German tools/machinery, it's a common and accepted practice to raise prices around April 1st each year. For people in the US, this likely comes as a surprise. The unfortunate part is the overall US price increases seem to be outpacing inflation. Over the short term business will likely be fine, but as the cable companies found out, you can only raise rates so far. People are cutting the cord by the millions, flocking to the competition in streaming. Festool management should take note, America is not Germany. Competition here is fierce, and fortunes can be lost much faster than they are made.
