Tool points

Ah, feels good. At least we got rid of that joke. One may think that they removed it because the others (yellow, red and blue ones), were having a good laugh. At least I had, and because of that joke, I did not become a member of the club, because it was exactly that - a joke.
This year, 2010, I bought two drills, one vacuum, extra hose, bags, a jigsaw, a TS saw, a of1010, some rails, a centrotec sys-set, some extra systainers, two sanders, the rest of the centrotec system, a railbag, quite a bunch of sandpaper, rail angle set, cleaning set, and so on. What would I had gotten? a box of sandpaper... I didn't even get points for the Centrotec set, which is more expensive than a sander??? Weird, and can only be described as German logic [big grin]
Breathing free air is a nice thing.
One may also believe that the system existed in countries where Festool commanded a premium for their products, compared to the US for example.
Hopefully they may come up with something better, as the price is the same or will increase in 2011 ???.
Their campaign programs are far better, like two extra blades for the TS saw and a couple of clamps, when buying the TS together with a rail. Or was that the rail plus the clamps when buying an OF1010? Don't remember, but at least that's what I got, and I'll call it a rebate (that you can actually use).
Keep up the good work Festool! And don't fal into the cheap-version-of-your-tools-pit, like others did. Just get that Carvex right. Plus make a suitable flashlight for the batteries, please [wink]

Cheers,
Jacques.

Sure prices will increase.

Overextended states on both sides of the pond are debasing their currencies. Germany is bailing out Greece with printed money and the US is trying to escape from the Chinese debt trap by printing.

The logic: more money, not more goods = more money per good.

Home prices flat? No way: real estate prices are falling, as the rate of increase is far below the inflation level! As it should...
Absent inflationary policies of central fraud (banking), nominal home prices would be falling as well. But the truth is too shocking to reveal according to politicians.

Back ontopic: Festool announced the end of toolpoints. The "new machine after theft for 50 euros" when joining "Tools for Profit" has changed to "new machine after theft for 100 euros" when registring for warranty.

Got to have another 120 Toolpoints this year to reach the 150  [tongue]

Toolpoints logic:
31 points for 850 euro Domino, 36 points for a 600 euro router, 42 points for a 540 euros planer, ???
