TORMEK gringing wheel

Even if yoou find one CBN may not be a good application for a Tormek. You would not be able to change grit characteristic with a grading stone so you would be locked in to a single grit. To have any good metal removal rates at the slow speed would also require a pretty coarse grit, meaning it would be very difficult to get a finely honed tool without followup on waterstones or some other flat stone treatment (Shaptons, scary sharp, etc.)

You might be happy if your usage is for turning tools. Having said all of the above, I have a 6 inch CBN mounted on a higher speed grinder. It is actually on an old Royal Oak motorized grinding spindle. If there are any old school cutter grinder hands amongst us they will probably know what that is. I use it for sharpening the inserts in my wood chipper amongst other things. ;D They last twice as long as the factory grind but it isn't like paring with a chisel.

CBN is a great abrasive but it does like some speed.

Thanks for reply's. I was thinking broken drill bits for getting the angle close. The one borax wheel is listed for 100 to 3500 rpms and is 80 grit. I just wondered if anyone went this route? Thanks, MARK

I am a woodturner and i have to constantly sharpen my tools. What I have found to be the best for me is a slow speed grinder about $100  and a ceramic wheel about $100  This sharpens the tools very well and it runs cool.
You can spend a fortune on CBN wheels about $180 BUT IT really isn't necessary
Hope this helps/
