Tour De France

I like to ride myself a good 1200 km per month in the summer. But I don't care at all about following the professional events.

Follow the tour when I can. In 95 I biked Alpe d'huez just a day before the tour climbed it. Definitely got more respect for the riders after trying that. It was part of a bus tour where we biked several of the stages. Currently rebuilding my old bike. Used to ride a lot more than now.

Very cool  [cool]

A long time ago I did some amateur racing. Haven't ridden in about 20 years. But that sounds like a fun trip.

I watch the tour when I can catch it on TV here and there. Watched the last half of stage 14 today.

Generally sport has lost a lot of the shine for me as all of the drug cheating, etc became more news worthy than the events.

I do need to regain my cycling mojo, but it's becoming increasingly dangerous in Sydney ... yet another reason why we want to get out of the rat race.

My son has flown out to Morzine with one of his bikes - we have not had a report back yet !

I'm an ex club racer (long, long time ago when I lived in Ireland). Have done the Alps (Alpe d'huez was just hideous).

Still try to follow the sport when I can; am enjoying the tour at the moment. Always kinda like it when the French guys do well, which this year they're not.....

That is incredible!

I need to start slow, so I today put together a way to mount it the roller with out the tip-toe action.

And I put in a small grove for the rubber band to clear the pallet planks.
(I knew I would need that odd sized bit I ordered)

Enjoying a beer, and deferring training another day.

[member=40772]Holmz[/member] this is exactly why I'm too lazy to ride .. when it comes to trainers I just go Google -> Tacx -> Buy ...  [embarassed]

A bit more on the influence of the Tour ... and a bit more on my level of lazy ...

Here's a pick of my Ciocc that I just had rebuilt to original specification:

I having a matching one in "small" that I had to get for my wife that has NEVER seen a pedal turn [sad]

I got the Ciocc after being inspired to upgrade from my Giant TCR while watching one of the tours many, many, many moons ago. I've been tempted to get something bleeding edge but I should probably prune the bike collection down a few beforehand [embarassed]
