transporting a kapex

ive noticed something weird with my kapex, when i put it in the van after work it goes in and i roll it in flat. when i come to get it the next day its always beveled over slightly. like about say by 5 degrees or so. ive got to flip the lever up and straighten it back to 0 degrees. its always approximately the same amount. nothing is resting on it. nothing is falling over and hitting it or anything.

does this happen to anyone else? could it be vibrations from driving or anything?

Yes and N0, yes it happens to mine everytime I put it away on the ug cart, no it is not caused by your vehicle as mine hasn't been in a vehicle since it was delivered, it only rolls from inside my garage to outside my garage, no more than about 10 yards in total.

weird. i wonder if were putting it away wrong or something then? or if we have it on the kart wrong or something?

I don't know, hopefully you noticed it before you began cutting? I didn't, when I came to put the parts together it took me a while to work out what was wrong.

actually..... this morning when i went to start using the saw i forgot about it and pulled the lock lever out to raise the saw head. and when id packed it up the fence must have been close to the blade. and i caught the blade on it. that reminded me to check it. weird that it happens like.

Think its a common thing, mine does it sometimes. I normally forget to check and only realise after a few cuts when things don't fit properly  [crying]

Yes mine does it almost every time. But I do drive like an A**e

Mine does it all the time. I've also noticed the 0 to 45 / 45 to 45/ 47 degree knob doesn't always work. It can be set so its supposed just bevel to the left , but when you lift the saw back up it bumps and goes straight past zero when it's supposed to stop.

Mine does it regularly and you really need to get into a routine to check all stops etc are at zero before first cut.

Sounds like strictly a UK/Scotland thing...we don't have those problems in the U.S.  [poke]

Mine always moves a fraction in transport. Yesterday it moved about 10degrees when the van was hit and it travelled from front to back and out the open doors to the floor. It was on its ug stand with the wings latched to the frame. I was unloading at the time but fortunately not behind it when it was struck [eek]. Checked for square and its spot on as are lasers so tougher than they look. The van however will be a write-off. 12 months old 13000 miles and just completed all the racking [sad]

Oh that's not good, it's all extra hassle.
How could the other driver not see a big red van parked up.

He was sober as he blew zero. Said the sun was in his eyes! I think he was on the phone. He didn't brake and he was well above the 30 mph speed limit. I had just taken two systainer stacks out when he hit it. 20 seconds earlier and it would have flattened me as he pushed it back 5m. Only door that still opened was the drivers. Big crease in the roof and floor, sheared off wishbone and suspension strut, split the fuel tank, drove the side door back far enough to crease side panel to back doors, so I don't think it will repair. All his airbags deployed and he was unhurt.
