Hello Everyone

Trend have sent an Airshield Pro for me to review (it goes back very soon) and I have made a video review. I am aware of the differences in definition of items like this in the US. Despite that it is very popular in the UK.

Take a look at:

Thank you.

Great review.  [big grin]

Did you try it out with different kinds of hearing protectors? And if so how did it work?

Trend sent this to me without ear defenders and so I have not tried any at all. I have heard that some people have found the Trend ones to be poor but I suspect that these may be the same people that find the Airshield uncomfortable. It really is not too bad wearing it for several hours - the only thing that I noticed was when the workshop was at 5 degrees the cold air on my face was not good! I will be sending this back very soon and will not bother to ask Trend about ear defenders.

One can always use ear plugs which I used to do with my old Racal Airstream.

I own one my self I have had it for a few years now!

1. You Defiantly have to get a spare battery and ideally separate charger I never did and its a reason why I never use mine cus like mentioned by Peter takes along time to charge so I ended up with the battery dead most time.

2. I dont think its uncomfortable to wear and it fits fine on my head BUT over long use my neck starts to hurt and I end up not wanting to look down any more I starting looking down with my eyes only and not tilting my head to look at the work piece.   I thought I could get use to it but I cant!  So another reason why I don't use it!

The only time I like using it when I am routering and the dust even with the OF2200 router is being thrown into my face directly. I tried to wearing goggles and a dusk mask but I couldnt see and I could feel that I was still breathing in the dust.  So I used my Trend Air shield and it was brilliant for that application kept  my vision clear and I was breathing in clean air.   Also sthil sawing it comes in handy!

but thats all I use my Air shield for! For dust which doesn't hit you direct I don't bother using the Air shield

Also I think its very expensive for what it is.  It looks fair price but if you add the separate charger and battery its expensive and Trend kno this hence why they dont offer it as a package.  If you get your hands on one and look at it there isn't that much to it really.
Just a simple little fan and some pipe work and then thin plastic to make up the helmet.
