trend scribe master

Cant stand things like that. Ive seen that at the D&m tool show every year. They're desperately trying to get everyone to buy one. I really can't see what's wrong with using a jigsaw.

As you say a big FAFF

I watched him today doing a scribe on some 4" pencil round skirting, by the time he'd clamped the skirting in,set up the router, did the scribe, un clamped the jig, marked the skirting to length and then cut it on his mitre saw, I'd lost the will to live.

... and then when he tried to fit it, the price he was scribing too was that badly cupped, it was a really really bad fit, I just walked out shaking my head

I can't see how its accurate either as if the bits were narrow  enough to cut into small mouldings they would snap. I think they did find that when they first come out.

Another crap idea like this is that brick laying template that you see on the diy satellite channels. Brick buddy or something similar

I think the bit he was using was 3mm dia, but with a longer cutting edge than standard, he was taking it really easy even on s**te softwood skirting.

just a gimmick for those who can't

I'd love to turn up at a show with a mitre saw and jigsaw or even just a coping saw . Then go and cut a scribe quicker than the demo guy lol.

[not worthy]

I've seen it scribing a very intricate mould and have to say I was impressed.
I think once you get the hang of it set up is easy, same as most things they usually a pain to set up but with practice it becomes a lot easier
I think the bits are quite strong
