Sorry, you blinked .. it's done [big grin]

...

Removed the picture as it was deemed inappropriate for the FOG and I'm not handy to tech to crop and repost.

Just my little part for world peace ...

I had to trim 4 doors today in a factory referb as well. bloody 2040x870x40mm solid core doors so dam heavy so very heavy.

I have not been able to give the FOG my normal amount of attention lately and so I missed what might have been a First!

Well done and congratulations. A simple pictorial report showing the efficiency of Festool saws and rails.

I find it difficult to see why others such as [member=10147]jobsworth[/member]  have not recognised and celebrated this occasion?  [smile]

I assume Kev, as they appear to be in your photographs,  that these are solid core exterior doors. If these were the hollow core range from the same company, I would have trimmed both the bottom and top equally to the equivalent extent to maintain some structural integrity.

[member=19746]Untidy Shop[/member] they're solids, but they are actually trimmed we'll below normal height from both ends for a pool equipment enclosure.

Methinks that if the doors had been previously mounted and were just being reduced for bottom clearance, trimming both top and bottom would mess with your hinge locations and locking mechanisms.

[size=13pt]Fair comment [member=7493]Sparktrician[/member]. However I recognise these doors as probably new exterior doors due to their pre undercoat paint Color finish and available through the largest Hardware Store Chain in Australasia. The hollow core exterior doors available do not have much framing thickness for trimming hence the necessity at times to trim both top or bottom, @/or both sides.

Anyway as Kev has said, these are solids. As such they are approx. three times the price as the hollow core, but obviously more can be trimmed.

Usually doors have knobs, or holes for them.
As those did not have knob holes, I suspect that they could be new doors.

Oh I've been celebrating Kev actually doing some work, first thing I did was contact the History Channel I think they are going to do a 3 part series how Kev did something, then I went on a 3 day binge, I just sobered up long enough to post this, now back to the German beer I bought on holiday last week....

The doors are sliding. They're the access to the pool equipment and are a fair bit shorter than a normal door height ... I cut about 200mm off in total, but was only trimming 10mm off in the last pass for better clearance.

Tell everyone the truth Kev, you are the last Jedi and you use the force to open the doors

[member=10147]jobsworth[/member] not the force .. if you notice in the first picture, my son is using the finger. The finger runs strong in my family.

Pretty much back to Yoda and the force, as he often used his his digit or the whole hand too.

Is that the Oz version of a light sabre????

It's the Oz version of the MFF...inger...nose picker, butt scratcher, universal communicator  [huh]

There were those Gidget films from Malibu in the 60's.

Maybe time for a 'Digit' film based in Cronulla?
