Imagine you head out to the store and set yourself up with everything Conturo and related. You've decided to edge a face at 300 .. all good though, because your trusty MFT/3 cradle setup for your Conturo makes this easy.

Now the edge is on and you reach for your dedicated MFK700. About now you get the funny sensation in your jaw and your brow starts to furrow [huh] [eek] [blink]

No .. I'm not in this position, I haven't pulled the trigger on a Conturo yet. This is one of the dilemmas I'd like to demystify before I do.

Who's got the magic ... [member=4105]tjbnwi[/member] do you?

You can't really put a radius on anything that's not at 90 degrees; for anything else, Festool advise that you just flush trim.

The below link is a good guide to understanding the Conturo and has a few hints and tips that will help with getting your head around things, and it's on the Festool Australia site too! Page 48 for "routing mitred edges" tips.

Thanks Garry, I breezed through that a while back and it obviously didn't stick [embarassed]

As I was suspecting though .. to do anything clever will likely require a two pass approach, the second through a table with an appropriately angled bit.

Cheers [smile]

MFK 700 and planer bit.

The edging will be on plane with the top and bottom surfaces of the work piece.

I haven't tried it, but I don't see why the profile bits would not work. You may need to go up a profiled bit size due to the increased "reach" of the edge.

I can tell you if you use a 1.5 mm ogee bit on 3 mm edge banding it does not work out well.
