has anyone used the coping foot with the trion. The collins website shows a photo of a trion with a coping foot on it
No specifics on it. I've only used the coping foot with the 1587 and wondering if anyone has experience with the coping foot on the trion and how it compares to using it on the 1587.

Thanks

I think that Dan Rush has the collins foot for his Trion.  I will see if I can wake him up and get him to post.

I do have the collins foot on both the Trion and the Bosch, and the system works well  on both saws.  I do prefer the Bosch saw over the Trion, though. It's very subjective, but I just like the feel of the Bosch.

If I remember correctly, when I bought the Collins foot 3 or 4 years ago, I had to complete a minor rework to the foot for a good fit on the Trion.  I needed to open up the throat behind the blade by a 1/4" or so to allow the blade to operate freely.  I don't know if this was an isolated case, or all bases need to be modified for the Festool.

There is a specific Collins coping foot for the Trion.  It already has the cutout.  I have an original version and Dave Reinhold has the Trion version.  We compared the two to see what David Collins modified on it for the Trion.  Even if you have the old one, it's a simple modification.

I had to sand a bit off one side of the foot, it was just to close to the blade. I use a very aggressive Bosch blade in the Trion for coping...
