I made the mistake of having my Superjaw order shipped to my place of work. When the head maintenance man saw the setup he didn't want to let me take it home. It looks like I will be ordering one for him now. I think one would make a great welding clamp. Anyhow, I am very impressed with the potential this tool holds for making some jobs around the shop (and outside the shop) easier. Perhaps the neatest feature is that the bottom of the vise slide is exactly the same height as the MFT table surface. Not only can it double as an outrigger for longer work, if need be, it can securely clamp whatever is laying out there. I am sure I will be fiddling with it in this manner soon and will post some pics. Got yard work to do first.

Good for you for discovering this "secret" piece of gear! After getting mine I wondered why every shop in the world didn't have at least one.  ;) ;D

Gregg, what ad-ons are you finding most useful? I.e. Log Jaws, Engineer jaws, tool tray. To all who own this beautiful piece of equipment, what accessories are you finding useful....Let's use my favorite phrase here...Stud or Dud?

I have been pestered to order a unit for the maintenance dept. They envision using it primarily as a welding vice. I have used mine as a clamp for glue ups. I believe some purpose built extra wide jaws might be great for frame and panels. I have used it for holding lawnmower blades while sharpening with an angle grinder and I find myself using the tray as a convenient repository for whatever needs to be set aside when my hands are full. I will be re-arranging my shop over the next few months and fully expect this tool to occupy a place of prominence, much like a blacksmith's anvil. And, of course, it will be located in a manner that it becomes an outboard support for long work on the MFT. Call me crazy but I don't see why anyone willing to buy this tool would not want to have all the accessories at the ready.
