Using Blum undermount slides on inset drawers. Most of the time to issues. Every once in a while after I shim the drawer attach the front and remove the shims the drawer drops almost completely down. I have no clue as to why this happens. Remove the front fill holes with epoxy and do it again with the same exact results. Checked for square, made sure the slides are level and in same plane, flatness of drawer box. Can someone explain to me why this happens. Thanks

I've had this happen. In my case, I traced it back to skewing the clamps slightly upward when clamping the face to the box. Sometimes this lifts the drawer box/drawer runner slightly from its position. It then drops when the clamps are removed. You can adjust height of the face 3mm using the locking device, if necessary. Good luck!.

When you say “shim the drawer” do you mean the drawer face in the opening?

Previously I’ve solved the issue by placing weight in the drawer prior to attaching the face.

We now use a jig/fixture to align and attach the drawer faces, cuts the time to about 10 seconds a drawer.

Yes, I shim the drawer face in the opening. I have tried using the double sided tape and attaching the draw and still have the same problem. I do know I can adjust them just trying to figure out why this happens to avoid it in the future. I'll give the weight a go next time. @tjbnwi care to elaborate about the jig/fixture?

Check the clips on the drawers that have issues. One or both may be out of planer or bound causing the problem. Next time it happens, pull the drawer, loosen the clips slightly see what happens.

The fixture is just a square corner on felt covered ply or MDF. The face goes under the upper stop tight against the lower stop, the drawer box is placed against the upper stop and screwed to the face. The distances are based on how you install the slides and the clearances of the face to the face frame. Look at the lower front corner, you can see the tongue on the piece that creates the lower stop. The upper stop is the thinner material to clear the in/out adjustable clips.
