How many of you bought the accessory kit for the TS55?  After the purchase did you feel it was worth it, or if you had it to do over you'd do it differently?  What other components did you decide you needed after the purchase?.  It's been a while and I've got some $$ in my pocket burning the old hole.

Are you talking about the one with the angle unit?  I bought it and have not used the angle unit since.  I used the deflector more than anything.  Yeah, everything will get used at somepoint but not often.  The guide rail replacement strip is a good one, and it will get used.  The guide rail stops will get used, but not often and the guide rail extenders get used once in a while.  If I had to do it again, I wouldn't buy it.  I would of bought the deflector and extenders right off the bat and bought everything else as I needed it. Thats my situation.  You have to ask yourself what do you need and how often will you use it to justify buying it.  Everyones needs are different.

When I added up the items in the set vs the cost of just buying them as needed I found that the only thing you were getting any discount on with the set was the Systainter.  It was free and the rest of the stuff was regular list prices.  So, I will buy what I need as I need it.  The ramp for the rails is only about $15 itself and one also comes with the MFT/3 if you ever buy one of those....

Some Festool clamps always come in handy....IMHO

Best,
Todd

Don't buy it.  The best parts in here can come with other Festool products.  The clamps can come in a M0079 Clamping Kit (by buying this kit means you get the screw clamps for $10 instead of $35) and the Deflector comes with the MFT/3 table.  Although I don't own the Angle Guide I hear that it's not a valuable tool and it doesn't hold an angle that well.  If you do buy some of these parts out of the Guide Rail accessory kit separately they'll fit in you TS 55 systainer anyways.

Realistically if you don't already have the MFT/3 table, put this money from not buying the Guide Rail Accessory Kit towards it of which you'll be infinitely better off.

Thanks to all that replied, it looks like I'll skip the kit.  I thought that angle gauge looked like a natural fit and had not heard of issues so that was a good heads up.  Thats why I come here.

Bones,

I bought the kit about a year ago.  It is sitting on my shelving unit behind my other systainers.  I thought I would need it but have not used any of it.  Have not needed the splinterguard yet and now find I would rather have the new transparent one.  I have other sets of Festool clamps.  When I need the deflector, I use the one that came with my MFT3.  I have yet to find a use for the angle finder although my guy at Rockler says he uses his all the time.

I think you are making the correct decision in not buying this.

Hi I did buy the kit
Have not yet needed to replace the rubber strip (2 yrs)
I use the Locking knob for the angle Guide on my OF 1010 sled
The rest of the guide is in the junk drawer.
The ramp is of limited value in my opinion
The clamps store in the bottom of my TS55
And i modified the stop so my 55 doesn't fall over when it is at 45deg
the sys i use for tile spacers
Save your $$$$ and only buy what you need
