After experiencing the horror of knocking my plunge saw off of the table and watching it bounce like a basketball, a new base plate has arrived to remedy my "rocking plunge saw."

Installing it is no problem.

But is there a good technique for calibrating the blade location so that I do not have to replace all of the strips on my numerous guide rails?

Hi,

You can try Rick Christopherson's enhanced TS55 Manual here.  Or once you have set you might get lucky and it will be a little closer and just re-trim the strips. Or you can move the strips over. Do a search for    strip  move  and you will get several threads that tell how to do this.
