Ts 55 doesn't work

Hi, i bought my ts 55 used, so the garanty is expired! The problem started some weeks ago when the thermal overload switch turned on frequently, and one day the saw would'nt turn on! Anyone had the same problem and what to do?

If the saw was mine, I'd send it to Festool for repair.

Sorry to read that your first post was about an issue.  It might be the thermal overload but if it were mine I would take the cord loose from the tool and check the contacts on the cord and also the tool.  If the cord was loose - or had been loose when the previous owner had it, there could have been arcing and the contacts may be burned.

Just a thought.

Festool will fix the tool for a cost, though you obviously won't be able to get a real estimate until you've sent in the tool and so have incurred some amount of sunk costs.
