I have been using the TS 55 for 1.5 year. I never cut material thicker then 3/4" (18mm). Today I had to cut ~2" (49mm). I setup the track guide and set the saw depth all the way down. I then manually engage the plunge to see if it was enough. The specs says 2" 1/8 but you never know. I realized that the blade was only going down 1" [eek]
I couldn't find what was blocking the plunge until I notice the splinterguard was the issue.

It was not cut through and the blade was bumping on it.

If it happen to you just run the saw at full depth free air and the splinterguard will not confused you like it did to me [embarassed]
P.S. I need to clean my blade [wink]
