Picked up a saw yesterday, Woodcraft, and the base adjustment shoes are different from what I've seen in every vid and other stores.  Went back; they have two saws in the store, both evidently new to the store recently, two different designs.  Which is the correct current production base as of Feb 2015?  Exact same model numbers on the cases.  Pulling my hair out here trying to figure out which is current.  Thank you in advance for any input, also any input on why there was a redesign?

Interesting!?!?!?!

I prefer the look of the lower example as it seem that you can cut further of the edge on a 1400 (55") rail.

omg do i have the latest and greatest??? i got the req... [scared] ??? :o i hate having old tech lol

My saw is like the top one, bought in dec 2014. look at the manufacturing date on the saw, its located on the sticker with your model and serial number on it.

Maybe if you're close to the store you can check the production month of both saws, it's on the type sticker of the saws.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't have any information about a change to the cams. So, I can't shed any light on why there was a change. But, I'll see what I can find out.

Our tools have the manufacture date on the label in the format of MM/YY. With that, you could determine which is the newest from that perspective. But the bottom photo appears to be a recent change.

On the European EKAT there are 3 types of TS 55 REBQ.
The latest 2 indeed have the new baseplate (500912).
The info about the USA model TS 55 REQ is not available at this time.
But I expect the same change of baseplate.

The production date suggestion was great, as well, as the EKAT data--thank you!!!.  Bottom pic is Dec 2014, so new enough that I won't hike back to the store to compare the other.  Thank you all.

Mine (UK Model) was made Nov 14 and it has the same configuration as that shown in the second image.
