TS 55 REQ Bearing problem???

I  have a new TS 55 REQ Track Saw.  This is the second time I've used the saw and, while I was ripping a door down to size I noticed that it would start to vibrate and lose power.  Then it would stop vibrating, regain power for a couple of seconds and then lose it again.

I decided to run the saw while not cutting anything and it did the exact same thing.  It sounds to me like a bearing issue.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Or does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks a million.

I see you are in the USA.

Not sure if you've heard, but Festool USA has recalled the TS 55 REQ saw.

I do not know the nature of the recall, but you should contact festool service and find out the details for sending your saw in.

Sent via PM, but might as well as here also.  [wink]

Festool has notified the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada of a potential problem with the plunge mechanism on some TS 55 REQ Plunge-Cut Track Saws.  While investigation is continuing, Festool, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), intends to recall affected units. If you have a TS 55 REQ Plunge Cut Track Saw, please discontinue use immediately and call Festool directly at 1-855-784-9727.

I'd prefer that members not attempt to diagnose or troubleshoot the problem from the OP. It's a moot point since the tool needs to be remedied under the recall. The repair department can assist with the recall and any potential issue with the saw. Any such posts will be removed as not to encourage further use of the tool.

Thank you,
Shane

By the way,  [welcome] to the FOG.

I hope your future Festool experiences are not cut short as this one has been.
