TS 75 EQ Blade Wobble

Blade wobble evident in 2 year old TS 75 EQ. We use this saw several times a week to straight line rough sawn hardwoods and to cut plywood and melamine to rough size before taking to the table saw. It travels from the shop to the field two to three times a month. It's only handled by two of us, so we're pretty sure it's never been dropped. I took it into the Festool dealer yesterday and he schooled me how the plate nests into the blade and arbor bushings. We keep the thing pretty clean, and only recently noticed the ragged cuts and splinters we get cutting veneered plywood and melamine. The splinter guard and the plastic guard on the rail both look ragged, too.

Before I send it in for warranty repair, any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm not sure how to embed the video, so here's a link to the video showing the problem.

Hi,

Have you tried a new blade? Could be the blade overheated or just got a warp from some other cause?

Gerry

We've had three different blades on the saw. I recently bought a brand new blade because we were noticing so many kerf lines and splinters in our cuts. Problem remains with a new blade.

Yes, I have a call in to my Festool dealer. Their sales rep will pick up the saw at my shop and lend me a loaner saw to use while mine is being serviced. It's one of great values of working with Austin Hardwoods and  owning a Festool. I hate to part with my saw, so I came here looking for something I may have overlooked. Too often there's a simple solution that I miss by thinking the problem is too complex.

Hi, Alex

    Welcome to the FOG  [smile]

Looks like you have it figured to send to Festool for repair. Should be under warranty?  Sounds like you may need to replace or shift the anti-splinter strip  on the guide rail. Don't forget to get that so the loaner can go right into use.

I too use my TS75 and have ripped a clean edge on numerous walnut boards without issue. However now I have been cutting a clean edge on 8/4 poplar @ 8'+ and have had some nasty wobble. it causes me to have to cut it more than once and sometimes use my standard blade at half kerf to "clean it up" after the initial rip cut with the panther blade. I have cut dozens of these boards in the last few weeks and am disappointed in the saws performance. I will need to call festool Tuesday to see what my options are, but I cannot be without a saw in the mean time.
