Is there any noticeable difference in the cut quality between the 16 and 18 teeth TS 75 blades?

I have the 16 now and should I even consider purchasing the 18 or is it a moot point?

I didn't know there were 2 different Panther blades for the TS75, thanks for that.

I'm not sure which one I have so I can't give a comparison, however, I doubt you could tell the difference when in use.

One reason to have a spare Panther blade is to always have one on hand incase you have to ship one out for sharpening.

I have used the "standard " blade for several years. I rip maple, poplar, MDF and other pitch and resin coated wood. It works a peach most of the time. Ripping 2" maple I get burn on occasion, but it isn't bad at all.

Cheers. Bryan.

Is one an older blade that's superseded by a new number?  I ran into this with two 55 blades that had different kerfs and I think tooth counts as well. Festool sold them side by side to get the old number /stock out of distribution.  Looking at Bobs page, one TS75 is called Panther and the other is Standard, but is not a Universal blade.  Fun.... [big grin]. Why does Festool do this....
I see the Panther is an ATB grind, did anyone see what the tooth pattern was for the Standard blade?

My gut is telling me that there is no discernible difference between the cut quality of the two.  I won't be spending $83 more.

Thanks Leakyroof.

The Panther blade is 16 tooth and the other one is a standard 18 tooth blade.

The 16T blade has a more aggressive 28* hook angle vs the 18T 20* hook angle. Both are same width at 2.6mm. Probably not much difference in cut quality but the 16T should cut faster by design.
. That's the info I was wondering about....
