TS55 For Cutting Plasterboard

Just browsing the new Festool UK site, and spotted this:

I remember this has been discussed before, and the conclusion was that it wasn't a good idea. Now it seems that Festool are saying it's fine...

I think it is more about the vac then the saw itself.

I would think it is because of the new Cleantex?

Why not?

I think the concern was over the filter in the CT's.

Don't the new ones have some sort of self cleaning or electronic monitoring.

You can also rout plasterboard  with a  v groove cutter and fold it around corners! Never done it but you can . You use a guide rail and form the groove like you would a dado. See Page 135 of the 2010 catalogue.
Strange but true, I would not put my routers any where nearplaster board dust .

Ahhh, they will be fine.

I would think the bearings are sealed, what else do you have to worry about?

I have sucked quite a bit of mud and dirt through the air intake on my makita circular saw, besides the bent table it runs like a champ.

Tools are tough, or they wouldn't be tools they would be like figurines or some thing.

i use my tools for what ever i can, that way they earn me more money. At the end of the day thats why i buy them, if they break then i buy new uns
