TS55 is awesome

I've had a TS55 (my first Festool purchase) since August, and have been hugely impressed at the quality of cut, light weight and quietness.  Until today I had only used it on sheet materials (MDF and birch ply) and 3/4" ash.

I had ordered some 2" x 2" ash for legs for my next two projects, and when it came this morning my supplied had shipped me a plank 2" x 7" x 8ft long.  I have a budget table saw, but have never been really happy with it, and certainly didn't feel like manhandling this chunk of timber over it, so I thought I'd give the TS55 a try.

I fitted the fence and with some apprehension set to work.  The saw cut through the 2" thick ash without any perceptible effort; even at the end of each 8ft rip it was flying - and all with the original-fit blade.  The quality of cut was fabulous, with no hint of burning.

This saw just continues to amaze me!

The Festool circular saws are great, aren't they.  You sound like me with my first Festool saw when I bought my first one about 6 years ago.

The good news is that, afterr 6 years, Festool saws continue to be amazing.

now i understand why they call it the slippery slope!

A week later, I had the urge for dedicated dust extraction, so bit the bullet and brought home a  CT22 and the ETS 150/3

A few weeks later came the OF1400 and the Trion jigsaw (both bought on Craigslist for prices I could not refuse)

It's a slope, but what a nice ride!

My wife bought me my first batch of Festools. The first Systainer I opened and used was the TS55. There was no going back. It is the most versatile saw I've ever owned and by several leagues, t'is certainly the best saw I will ever own. I am now on that dreamy ride that only soporific prescriptions of Festool can maintain.

My wife also has bought the majority of Festools.  Christmas presents that also serve as tax deductions.  I almost cried when I got the TS-55.  Then it was the Rotex 150 and the CT22.  Then the 1400.  Then Domino.  Then the RAS 115.  Then the MFT/3.  Then the TDK-12.

I think I'll keep her.  UNCLE BOB - send a Christmas card and a checklist - good for business. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
