TS55/MFT - Measuring to the right of the Rail?

Hey, wondering if people have found a good way of measuring to the right of the kerf with the TS55/MFT combo?  
I'm thinking of cases where I'd want to trim some say scrap down to a size repeatedly.   i.e cutting down odd sized ply to 3.25'' strips - basically how to set up a flag-stop to the right of the kerf?  

I'm stymied how to take the waste from the kerf into account [wink]

You might get some ideas from the whole post, but the last two images in the opening post shows a piece of scrap that enhances dust collection and allows you to measure to both sides of the kerf.
