Hi all,

Been long time lurker and hoping somebody can tell me I missed something in the docs cause I'm not seeing it.

Bought a brand new TS55 some months ago and been moving into new house so no time to play.  Finally busted it out to trim splinterguard and square it up and I am done before I started.

OBSERVATIONS:
~~Blade was sticking out in plunged position upon removing from Systainer.
~~Depth stop set to full depth
~~Fast Fix only partially opens! (something preventing it from full release)
~~Plunge is stuck won't go up or down

Sounds like the quick change facility (Fast Fix) has been engaged?
I the green lever on top of the grip pulled out? If so, grab the grip, to steady the plunge mechanism from springing back, and push the green lever back in. The saw should then plunge and retract freely. Other than that, make sure there are no obstructions around the blade and plunge body.

Sounds like it's in Fast Fix mode.

Thanks Jiggy,

This thing is locked up tighter than a drum.  I spoke to service and sending it in now.

Hi all,

Figured I'd fill in on the conclusion of the saga.  Almost a month later and I now have a working saw.  Unfortunately I never got to find the root cause of why my original saw was locked up.

I sent in my saw to Festool service and every time I called, it was nowhere to be found.  UPS showed delivered and signed for, but nobody could actually find it.  After enough of these calls I escalated to the service manager, and he sent me a new saw.  At least the service did the right thing but what a pain.

Now I'm off to cut my splinterguard and get on the right track!  [big grin]
