Just bought this off a mate, he was not aware of any problem with it and I may be being picky. Powered it up on speed 1 and it makes a bit of a rattle on start up then oscillates with the same noise and slight vibration. As I ramp up the speed towards max it becomes less noticeable most likely because the vibration is a much higher frequency. I understand that without hearing this directly it's very hard to comment but should I be expecting a seamless and smooth start up and running with no rattle? The blade has no lateral movement but does have a small for and aft movement which I would expect. The unit is in mint condition, has not been dropped, has had little use and is less than a year old.
Should I take it to my local dealer and do they honour warranty if I didn't buy it? (I have bought a lot from them!!)
Cheers

The roaring or rattling sound is normal. Speed control trying to adjust rpm produces some backlash in the gearing. Usually goes away when you are cutting.

the "noise" is caused by the electronic motor control PWM = Pulse Wave Modulation.
Normal in use.
