TS55 REQ Plus - blade angle adjustment

The blade of my TS55 REQ Plus is not square. It's off by quite a bit.
I've searched the forum for some guides but a lot of them are unclear or outdated.
If anyone can give me some clear instructions which screws I have to turn (for my specific model),
with some pictures perhaps, I'd be very grateful!

Another related problem I have is that there is a bit of wiggle on the the whole of the machine.
when I hold the sole of the machine and apply some sideways force on the  the angle of the whole device changes (the knobs of the angle or fixed). I'm guessing this is normal behavior, but I'm mentioning it, just in case.

Hi ram,

I have just received a ts55rebq yesterday and I have what I think is the same issue.
The deflection seams to be coming from the plunge hinge as if the bushing/bearing is missing or too loose a tolerance.

I am going to have a look at a display model tomorrow to compare as I bought this directly from festool’s online store.

I am wondering how common this issue is as this seams like a very basic thing to get correct.
For instance my makita sp6000 tracksaw this was supposed to replace does not have deflection in either of the plunge or tilt hinges.

Do we have faulty units or is this a manufacture ring issue with the new models?

Do you have the Suplemental User’s Manual? If you don’t then you definitely need to download it ASAP. Remember that there is a front and a back bevel thumbscrew so don’t forget to tighten them both. Also you may have pull the limit release knob to get your saw to true 90. The supplemental has great pictures and instructions on Setting the Bevel Angle on page 13.

Yep, I checked the bevel adjustment locking tabs.

I have found the issue, well non-issue.

There is a ramped slide that the plunge mechanism rides during its travel.
When the saw is in its resting position (up) the motor/saw assembly does not press firmly against this, and this is where the side-motion is coming from. Once the saw is plunged/rotated around 10° it firmly makes contact with the slide and the side-side play is reduced considerably.
This was not an issue with the makita saw as it does not have this slide to register against, still feels like an oversight on Festools part as when you pick up the saw the handle rattles around.
