Hi,
New to the forum, wish this wasn't my first post...

Brand new TS55. First cut, the splinter guard. I followed Rick Christopherson's instructions exactly (blade hanging off the edge, no backing or sacrificial board, lowest speed. My splinter guard got all chewed up (see photos). Normal? What should I do?

Thanks,
John

cant really tell from the image, but it looks like the saw was not set deep enough

Hi Harry,
Appreciate the quick response...

False alarm. The first cut in wood cleaned it up. I think you were right about the depth of cut.
I'm loving this saw - getting great cuts!

Thanks,
John

from what I could tell from the image (my eyes are in need of assistance) it looks like it did not cut through in all places, and frayed in the places where it barely did.

Glad that it all worked out for you

welcome john.
im unfamiliar with what rick states.
when i did mine i just droped it down on some scrap and made a cut. iv never had any chipping etc. harry is proably right , it is only cut through in places
