TS75 has put my PC porta-plane on the shelf

To all door hangers,
The PC porta-plane has been the tool of choice for door hangers for precise planing and fitting of doors into their openings for decades....until now.

I decided to try fitting doors with my ts75 and 2700mm guide rail.
    1. set saw to 3 deg.
    2. measure opening and subtract reveal
    3. rip equal amounts off of each side of door.
    All other steps of door prep are the same.

Done! with no: tearout in reversing grain or FG stiles, multiple planer passes.

I have since left my porta-plane in the garage.

Anyone interestd in buying it? :)

One more thing, no more piles of planer shavings to sweep up.

Just a little dust(since cutting on the edge of a piece the dust collection does not work as well) and couple of slivers(off cuts).

I've been using my TS55 for the same tasks. It works great. IMO, cutting down doors is probably the one thing the TS saws excel at more than anything else. Espeically cutting bottoms where tearout can be a real concern. I haven't bothered using my handheld planer since I got my TS55, there's no reason to.
 
I have not had ocassion to trim any dors lately, but with my AFT 55, I seldom have had to do any extra planing when glue joining boards together up to 1-1/2 inch thick edges.  Not even with white Oak and sugar maple.  I don't plow thru those woods real fast, but with sharp blade there is not even any burning.  I have even squared up some cherry blanks (fire wood)  with no burning.  Smooth edges on all cuts.
