Buying into the Festool system in the next few weeks. I'm here to ask if the TSC55 is compatible with the cross-cut FSK420 guide rails?

Nope.

None of the variants of the TS 55 will mate properly with the FSK rails.

Oh, welcome to FOG!

The new TS 60 is, so maybe in the near future there might be a TSC 60 which can use the FSK rail?
But my crystal ball is quite cloudy, so don't take my word for it  [big grin]

Well that's surprising. Glad I asked. Thanks for the info!

Looking like the TS60 is the saw I'm looking for!

I'm in the US. Figures... Mafell is the same. Their MT55 also isn't compatible with their crosscut guide rails.

The fsk rail is not very accurate and I would not recommend it for repeated precision cuts. It is very useful rail, but with ts tracksaw I would prefer FS-WA/90° or FS-WA angle stop.

Indeed, the FSK rail is designed for construction lumber (roofers, builders, carpenters etc...) not for making furniture or other precise stuff.
The K in FSK actually stands for that (FührungsSchiene - Konstruktion, translates to: guide rail - construction)

For making precise cuts you will indeed be much happier with one of the many guide rail squares and or parallel guide systems on the market.
I can recommend the TSO parallel guide system: it's expensive, but very accurate and a joy to use.
If you need to make a lot of angled cuts, it might be better to get the new FS-WA and FS-WA-VL from festool, but I have no personal experience with that system.

Hope this helps,
wpz

PS: The TS60 is really lovely by the way [tongue] might be worth waiting for it to come to the US.
