Hello, newbie here.

I am moving to cordless.  I am about to buy the OSC 18 and down the road likely to replace my TS55 with the TSC55.  I need the OSC now and had planned on getting the 4.0 AH batteries.  I know the TSC55 works well with the bigger 5.2Ah, but how well would it work with a single 4.0 or a pair of them?  I could get the 5.2Ah and use that on the OSC but I worry about weight/balance with those larger batteries.  Which route would you go?

Thank you for your help/opinions.

I prefer the 5.2 in the HKC and the 4.0 in OSC. I think the TSC will like the 5.2 better but to me the OSC is more of a precision handheld tool and I like it best with lighter batteries. The 3.1 are even smaller but similar weight, if you can find them.

Honestly, I’m not sure the 4.2 batteries make a noticeable enough difference to sacrifice the Ah, and possibly pay a premium.

I’m a massive fan of the compact batteries and have 5 of them. I recently added a new 4.0Ah and honestly, with its weight, I don’t really notice ergonomic benefits with my drills over the standard 5.2 sized packs.

But the 4.0ah is a great battery, runs my drills faster than the 3.1ah, performs identically to the 5.2ah with my HKC, and charges notably faster than a 5.2ah pack on my older chargers. And yes it is smaller and lighter than the 5.2s. . . Just not by much.
