As title. Just ordered the OSC 18 without battery in the assumption/ hope my 18v 5.0ah battery that come with my TSC55 would (though bulkier) work. Anyone able to confirm this would be the case?

Many thanks

The 5.2 battery will work fine but either the 3.1 or 4.0 batteries are a better choice. The OSC is lighter, better balanced and more enjoyable to use with the smaller/lighter batteries.

I am not expecting to use the tool in an all day scenario. So the weight of the heavier battery though noticeable is not really a justification for me for the extra cost when I already have 2 other batteries that will work. Who knows I may find myself using the tool for a sustained period where the extra cost on the lighter battery is justifiable. Saying that when do any of us justify cost when it comes to our Festool lol

Both your TSC 55 and OSC 18 start looking like a good value once one looks at the Maffel and Fein prices respectively ...
[smile]

Just did that for a friend yesterday - that 2500-8500 speed range of the Fein angle drinder "version" of the AGC 18 was really tempting ... overall we came to +30% price of a tool package compared to an all-Festool option. Heh. Ended up with a mixed Bosch 12V and Festool 18V setup.

Funny part was that Fein finally "lost" the sale not on price but because of their EOL-ing of the 18V platform and moving to the Bosch AMPshare battery platform. This disjoined their 18V tools from their 12V ones (stayed on an in-house platform) and once two platforms were in the game, the Bosch 12V was the clear pick ..
