I received my upgrade kits last week and applied them over the weekend. The version 2.0 includes a stop collar so if you remove the stop you don't need to recalibrate it and a spring under the tightening knob.

I thought the collar was needed on day one but this spring addition is ingenious! This spring holds the stop in place while tightening the knob saving you time and increasing the accuracy. Kudos to [member=61691]TSO_Products[/member] !

This is good news.  I have wanted another set of stops and guide adapters but availability (and some confusion on my part) has kept me from pulling the trigger. 

So, you bought the upgrade kits that turn your original flip stops into the 2.0 versions?.  If I read it right, thats $20 and a new, V2.0 flip stop is $40?  Just trying to decide which way I would want to go.  I want to leave my originals on the TPG guides and get another set, and a set of guide adapters for smaller work.  But again, availability is still up in the air, I think.

Can you describe more what exactly version 2 does? I thought v2 allows you to change between the standard rods and the longer rods for cutting narrow stop without recalibrating each time you switch. Is that correct? Your comment about the narrow stock rods "stop collars for the narrow stock rods" confused me a little.

I'm confused.  At the end of July this year, I ordered my TSO TPG-50 Complete Kit, which is apparently no longer available.  Aside from the stop collar, my flip stops are the same as the v2.0.  What does the original flip stop look like?

The upgrade only includes one stop to my knowledge.  Therefore, assuming you put it on the standard rod, that wouldn't need recalibrating.  However, the narrow stock would need calibrating.  An extra stop would, in theory, allow you to swap both rods out without recalibration.

I set TSO an email about adding another calibration collar, but I haven't heard back.

I'm curious to those who have swapped track lengths.  Have you had to recalibrate when going from say the 30" to 50"?  I haven't tried it yet so just wondering other peoples experience.

My stops were on my TPG 30s as its the only length I really needed at the time.  I then wanted to try the 20s.  I don't know if I had to recalibrate but I did anyway because there is play when you attach the new length so I wanted to make sure I had things set up correctly.  Another reason I want several sets of stops and guide adapters but cost really adds up.  Convenience can get expensive.. Yes on the expense of convenience.  I'm have been looking at another set of adapters and fllip guides to dedicate my 20" bars for narrow rips.  $175 + shipping/tax and I already have the T-tracks. [eek]

I have all three lengths of t-tracks (I was one of the first to purchase this system). The 50" one has a high quality Sterrett rule applied and the other two are laser etched. I was told 50" wasn't laser etched due to capability of the machine. My 20" and 30" match well but the 50" was off a bit. I worked with Hans and was able to adjust the rule on the 50" to match the other two.

Ugh (the price to pay for early adoption and great innovation) - looks like they found a way to laser etch the 50" t-track so all three tracks probably don't require flip stop adjustment. Also, noticed they now machine additional holes in the track so you can use a new connector to attach them for a longer track. They do offer a fixture to add the holes on the older style but since I have the 50" t-track probably not needed.

You are correct - looks like you have the latest hardware except for the stop collar.

The original flip stops did not have that spring or counterbore in the block to accept the spring.

Yeah, but you would be paying $40 plus shipping for two stop collars. I'm sure since more than one of us would like additional stop collars TSO will more than likely offer them.

Don't think TSO is a big company but they produce high quality, unique, and useful tools. I started this post to report on my positive experience with the improvements to the flipstops.

One more improvement I thought would be if they offered two more stop collars for the narrow stock rods. I'm sure they will but I see I can tide myself over for $3 at Amazon for some not so good looking aluminum collars. Maybe you have a similar source?

I am no stranger to TSO Products and do like the products they market.

However, when it comes to communications, TSO Products has a lot of room for improvement.

I hope someone can help me with calibrating my parallel guide system.  The minimum calibration would be the stock directly against the aluminum stop.  That yields a cut that is about 1/8" larger than indicated.

I probably have something installed incorrectly, but I have been staring at the stops for a couple of hours and nothing seems out of place.  There is only one way to mount the arms onto the rail square and there seems to be just one way to install the stops onto the arms.

I have attached some photos.  If someone could point out where I have made a mistake it would be greatly appreciated.
