TSV 60 - Angular range is only 0- 45 degrees. Why isn't there an undercut of -1?

Hi,

I'm fairly new to woodworking.
I was comparing some plunge saws and I noticed the new TSV 60 only had an angular range of 0 to 45 degrees unlike most saws have -1 to 47 degrees. Why isn't this possible anymore?
I don't see how having a scoring blade removes the need to do an undercut.

Could somebody explain this to me?
Or would this be a limitation of the new TSV 60?

It's indeed a llimitation, god knows why. Easiest solution would be to pack a spacer under the rail (right or left along the length for -1° or +47°)

Ok, is this a feature that is used much?
Or can it be solved by turning the board over?
Because with the scoring blade it should could clean on both sides right?

I expect this is intentional. The TSV is squarely aimed at professional shops.

And there the expectation (demand even ?) is that the tool is as simple as possible. So having pre-calibrated stops for 90° and 45° can be seen as an advantage. One less thing to "check/calibrate".

Not sure about the query, but my advice is that if you need to ask this, you do not want the TSV. It is a specialised tool, not a generalist by any sort of imagination.

Anyone buying it would (should ?) already have one or two of the TS60/TS55 series saws for that rare case when you do need a 46° cut in laminate.

I'll have a look in person, next time I'm at the supplier, but in the photos you can clearly see the angle scale goes to -1 degree, so maybe the description is wrong? Unless they've just used the same part from the TS60, which definitely does go to -1 degree.
