Here is something other than the Pro 5 Sander!!!

On the weekend of Nov.11-13, hundreds of woodturners will gather at participating Woodcraft stores across the country to make special thank-you gifts for military personnel during the 13th Woodcraft Turn for Troops National Turn-a-Thon.

Volunteer turners will craft one-of-a-kind wood pens for military personnel on active duty or recovering at rehabilitation centers. Woodcraft will provide tools and supplies, and turners are encouraged to include a personal thank-you message with each pen that may also include details about the pen such as the wood used.

The event is completely FREE and open to everyone. No experience is needed. We will have volunteers on hand to help guide you through the process.

This year we have broken our event down to 2 hr blocks of time. If you plan to turn for more than 1 block of time, simply enroll in multiple slots. Thanks.

This year we chose to run the event for 3 days, Nov. 11-13th. Note that the national advertised dates are for Nov. 11-12th.

Interested and able to help?  Sign Up Here!! or contact your local Woodcraft store in your area to get involved.

Thanks.

If anybody is in the area today (MD/DC/VA) through Sunday (11/11-11/13), we are turning pens all day, each day, to show our support for those serving and who have served.

FREE to everyone. We can show you how to turn a pen. No previous experience needed.

Your closest Woodcraft store is likely participating as well!!!

[member=19837]The Woodworkers Club[/member] Thanks for the heads up!

Stopped by our local Woodcraft in Cleveland and turned some pens today.  I was accompanied by my wife and 19 year old daughter.  First time turning pens for all of us!  My wife and I each turned one and my daughter did two so there are four more pens heading to our troops.  Had a fun time and felt really good to help out on this worthy cause!
