just finished this, no exotic  wood or anything like that just  poplar face frame and birch ply.

Nice work on the molding.  Also nice job on the staining; both of those are blotchy woods, but you got them pretty even.

Nice Work!
I am with Paul on this, the molding and the staining look great.
Poplar is great wood to work with. I like it much better than pine.

thanks guys. stain is sherwin williams : fruitwood and top coat is general finish : enduro-var . i was using hvlp spary gun for both

I'm jealous of the dog in your avatar... it was over 100ºF in my shop all weekend; 'cooled' to 99º by around 2 am.  Maybe I'll go hang out by the back door at the hockey rink so I can sit in the pile the Zamboni dumps...

Oh... if you don't know hockey.... the above statement can mean something Paul did not intend. Really it is about ice shavings ...really...  [blink]

Cheers,
Steve

My neighbor had a dog named Zamboni.   [scared]  He loved ice cream.   [big grin]

I hope he picks up "the the pile the Zamboni dumps"  [eek]

Steve
