Happy New Year everyone.

So 2017 is starting off with some interesting developments, all of which are to your advantage.  :)

Firstly, Festool are giving away a free 18v battery with most cordless machines, here's the blurb we have just received:

"A new 18V battery campaign for end users will be launching from the 1st January 2017 until the 31st March 2017. The campaign will mean that customers will receive a free 5.2Ah battery when they buy any of the following 18V tool range (excludes basic models):

Compact (our new 3.1 Ah batteries)
    Plus
    Plus SCA
    Set version

In order to receive the free battery, the customer must:

Register for SERVICE All-inclusive (dealers can obviously register on behalf of the customer through the usual online system)
The customer must also register via the promotional page on our website which can be found by searching www.festool.co.uk/18V

The microsite for the 18V battery campaign features a tab at the bottom of the page that says ‘Promotion’, this area can also be found by scrolling down through the www.festool.co.uk/18V microsite.

Once the end customer clicks the promotion tab they are able to complete the required form. Full terms and conditions will be available on the 18V microsite from 1st January 2017."

Festool 18V

This is a great campaign, well done Festool.

Your can order your Festool Cordless machine from us here:http://www.toolfest.co.uk/quick-search?terms=cordless

Secondly, we have a new plan here which we are excited to try out. We are lowering machine prices to epic levels, the lowest I can remember. Now of course, our competitors may read this and follow suit, only time will tell. And I cannot say how long the discounted prices will last as we have a goal to reach and once we acheive it, price pressures may make them go back up, we'll have to see.

In the meantime, please take a look, and if you need help send me a message.

Best regards

Warren

So if I am reading this right in the UK Festool dealers are allowed to set their own prices?

While in the freedom loving US the prices are fixed by Festool?

What am I missing here?

But am I right in thinking you have to buy a set with a battery already included?  A second battery would be useful for some of the single-battery tools, but a 3rd battery for a drill might be a bit excessive (for a non-trade person).

Hi Warren [member=8822]toolfest.co.uk[/member] - when will the Compact versions be on your site? Specifically...

Cordless hammer drill BHC 18
BHC 18 Li 3,1-Compact GB
Order Number 574925

Hi Warren , Happy New year mate.

Any idea when you'll have the new DAB+ sysrock ?

Yep, I think since August 2012 dealers in the EU have been free to set their own pricing.

Yes [member=35979]geoffshep[/member] , BASIC versions are not included, but hey you could sell the battery and then effectively discount your machine further.

Hi [member=11629]GarryMartin[/member] , as soon as I have had a chat with our Festool Rep and placed the necessary orders I'll list them from Pre-Order, they'll be listed at around 25% off the RRP when I do.

To be honest the 3.1Ah Compact battery is news to me. I had no heads-up on this until the letter arrived.  :)

Thanks

Warren

Warren, If I make a purchase/pre order now with my credit card, will I be charged now or when the tool ships?

Cheers.

[member=22067]mrB[/member] , we don't like card numbers hanging around, we charge them, then shred the numbers. You can cancel at any time, especially if the machine gets one of the infamous delivery delays and get a refund.

Or email what you'd like and I'll try and remember to message you when they're in. However your order will be behind any that have pre-paid so could take some time. Up to you.

Best regards

Warren

A few more things . . .

- Wow. Warren you've really done a number on your prices [member=8822]toolfest.co.uk[/member] -  [eek] I feel I need to buy something . .  [big grin]
- There are two versions of the KS-60!? what's the difference? anyone?
- Anyone worked out if you can by multiple tools and get free batteries or is it one per customer?

Cheers.

You can look up the model numbers on the festool website, select the basic or set version of the KS60 in the drop-down here:https://www.festool.co.uk/Products/Pages/Product-Detail.aspx?pid=561684

As ever, the Festool website is not very informative, but it looks like the set includes at least one clamp, a bevel and a light?

..and just check you are seeing the toolfest prices with VAT if that is appropriate!

Interesting Geof, Thanks.

And yes I'm aware of toolfest's displayed prices without VAT.

Apparently Festool GB cannot set prices in GB in the same way they can elsewhere.  Does this lack of control extend to overseas shipments?  Say to the US?  Those are certainly attractive enough prices less 20% VAT to make up for quite a bit of shipping expense.

A dream, I know.  But it is a new year, and it brings new possibilities beyond just price hikes, I hope.
