Today was a great day - meet up with some fellow FOGgers at the Festool Surgery day.

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks to TT Guy, and all the other staff at G&S Specialist Timber in Penrith. They were very friendly & most importantly kept suppling us with mugs of tea!

From left to right: a G&S customer who came to the surgery but didn't know about the FOG; russ_1380; windmill man; Gordon, the Festool rep; and lastly, yours truly. Unfortunately, TT Guy wasn't around at the time.

We got to see the new CXS and T-Loc systainers, as well as the new centrotec set and a couple of other things.

G&S are not only a Festool dealer, but also supply timber which they convert in their own mill, and we were given a tour. Here's windmill man enthusing about the biggest bandsaw I've ever seen up close:

And here's the owner with the saw:

They also have a large kiln and a 6-head planer for producing planed timber, mouldings, etc.

It was great to meet some other members, and even greater to find a festool user who didn't know about the FOG. Hopefully he'll be joining soon!

Hey Jonny,

What's that BIG Rotex next to you in the first photo above?

Looks and reads like it was a great meet up.  [thumbs up]

Lets hope we Uk based FOGgers can do something bigger at a later date, well done you guys. [smile]

Corwin, that wasn't suppose to make it in the picture, it's the new top secret RO 300.... [wink]

Brice was nearly right, its the new prototype RO 200 TS7a....................................

No, its just a normal Rotex but the angle of the shot makes it look bigger.

It was a great day out , nice to meet other Foggers and lots of banter!!!

I`d like to thank the guys at G&S for their hospitality.

The Stenner was awesome and they have lots of very good high quality timber, I was like a pig in muck!

John

Thanks for the pics Jonny, looks like you had a good one.  Was the lunch good  [smile]

More importantly, what do you think of the CXS ?

Woodguy

Hi Woodguy,

Lunch was good nice little lakeland pub.

CXS nice little bit of kit. would not bother personally would go for C12. Its a good entry level festool drill and under 200 notes .

Cheers, Woodguy.

You are most welcome guys, it was great to meet other FOG'ers.

I have never seen so many Festool fans in one room, I think Gordon may have been quite overwhelmed!! [big grin]

So guys, now you know where we are we will hopefully see you up here again soon.
