Yes folks, it's time for another of our low budget videos for you.

Note the new hose fitting on these, and the new code for the machine, check with your dealer before ordering to make sure you get the new version.

Best regards

Warren

Thanks Warren

You have my order.

I had one question - does the kit come with a new bayonet fitting for the hose? I think the read somewhere that machines with the new fitting do, but that didn't feature in your unboxing.

Cheers

Looks like it's already on the machine.

Would that mean the 'old style hose adapter' wont work ?

Thanks very much [member=2839]scholar[/member]. As per my email, I couldn't find one in the Systainer, so additional purchase of a 500669 may have to be made if you want the most secure attachment of hose to machine. However the old hose will fit on a new machine quite securely, I've just tried it using my old Midi hose and a new Rotex.

Best regards

Warren

Thanks again, Warren - I have added a hose connector to my order.

Actually, I hope the sander does come with one 'cos I need two!

Thinking about it, I have a couple more questions on the new bayonet fitting:

- does the new hose end fit the old tool spigots (eg the Rotex 150 and the OF1010) - I guess I will find out soon enough, but I'm sure others would like to know.

- what about the D23 hose (as came with my older CT Mini)?  That hose is very nice for using with the sanders - is there a new style hose connector for that hose?

Questions, questions...

Cheers

(Great service btw) 👍

I've tried it out this morning on a RO 150 FEQ and an ETS 150 and it fits fine, no problem.

This I do not know, you may have to ping a message to Festool or [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member] to get an answer on that one.

FWIW...the new bayonet style hose connector (500669), that is included with certain tools, will not fit the 22-27mm sleeved hose. That makes sense if you think about it.

Actually there are 2 types of new twist lock adapters.
One for Ø22/27 (500668) hoses and one for Ø27 hoses (500669).

Ahhhh...thanks [member=7673]neeleman[/member], I'll need to pick up 2 of the 50668 hose ends. [thumbs up]

Just curious [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] if you will be selling the new twist lock adapter (500668) for the Ø22/27 sleeved hose?

They don't show up on the Festool USA website. [scratch chin]

...we have some of the 500669 on order from FUSA, which is the 27mm version. 500668 is the 22mm version and is does not seem to be available yet here in the States.

Ya I have a 500669, it came included with the new HKC, however, it only fits the standard hose and I have 2 of the sleeved hoses on a MIDI & a CT 22. [member=7673]neeleman[/member] pointed out, that I need a 500668 for the smaller diameter hoses.  [sad] Can it be ordered or is it a NAINA product?

Currently, 500668 appears to be NAINA. I have reached out to FUSA to see about it. But, I do not see it being offered by them currently to dealers. I will keep you posted once I hear back.

Also it looks like the switch has been updated. I have the old version and it had to be returned because the switch jammed. Seems like a good idea to improve it as dust was getting in

You can see my comments on the new vs old rts/dts herehttp://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tool-reviews/new-rts-400-req-vs-old-rts-400-eq-hmm/ that includes some discussion of the old switch (it is a v easy fix to clean it and restore its smooth function).

[member=7673]neeleman[/member] thanks for the details of the new cleantec hose connectors - that answers my query about the D22 hose. However, I have some major reservations about this new connection system (see the link above for initial comments) - I will start a separate thread on the subject.

Cheers
