Ultimate DD Question

I got the UDD and set it up, however I was having a hard time figuring out what hose adapters I'd need.  I also have a DD DIY2.5 that has a bigger intake/output and fits Festool hose ends better.  So, I put the 2.5 cyclone on the UDD lid and ran the aluminum tape for safety.  Will that be ok?  I do like the better airflow too.

Is the 2.5 just the taller cone, longer hose etc? I have had the original UDD for years and love it though I wouldn't increasing the airflow a bit.

I believe it's description shows increased airflow.  It does use larger 2.5 in and outlets.

It also corrects the bass-akwards situation where the business hose fits over the tapered down input port on the DD. The next port going towards the vac source should always be bigger than the delivery port.
