After my third order being messed up with a Toronto festool dealer, I have had to start looking elsewhere to be able to buy my festool.

I have tried ultimate tools in British Columbia and have to say I am very impressed. I placed an order today with Chris and he is amazing. Helped me through some questions I had.  Was able to give me delivery dates right away and even knew my name right away .. Guessing caller id [big grin] but still a nice touch. Was able to bring up past history and made the transaction very quick at the end.

Overall, an A+ for customer service and pure knowledge of the product. This is my third order with them and they continue to deliver. Great job guys and for us Ontario guys, we save half the tax  [wink]

I second ultimate tools having great service. When my hl850 ate a knot and destroyed the base, Chris stayed open late so I could buy another to complete my job the next day. They all know me by name there and I'll drive past several other stores that sell Festool to support them.

I have had very good experiences there too, they have gone above and beyond on a few occasions. They always make time for you, I would highly recommend them. There are other local festool dealers but they do not come close to knowledge, service and product selection.

Hi -

Actually - this is not correct. You owe the applicable taxes on all purchases, no matter if they come from another province. It is the first thing any tax audit will nail you for....

Same applies at the border - there is no provincial tax exemption - you still owe sales taxes, whether or not the Feds collect them.

It is correct that out of province retailers are not required to collect taxes for other provinces.

It is tax avoidance - pure and simple, and is increasingly risky, as provinces and states try to top up empty coffers.

Thanks everyone!!! We really appreciate the positive feedback.

Selling Festool is our passion and our purpose is to provide the best possible customer service/support we possibly can to all woodworkers.

Feel free to call anytime for advice or an order and if you are in the area we would love to meet you face to face.

Best Regards
Dan Clermont

Dan was the first new generation dealer that broke the hold Hafele had on Canada back in 2008/2009. He was an active member before the forum was taken over by Festool directly. He is the most knowledgeable dealer I've met because he actually uses the tools himself. Dan and Chris make a good team because of their tool experience which is not found that much on the retail level. A lot people can sell you Festool as is evident by the number of dealers but few can discuss the mainly nuances of their actual operation and give recommendations. I have no connection to Dan or Ultimate Tools except as a satisfied customer.
