Uneven adjustment on EHL65

The sole plate on my ehl65 does not adjust evenly from one side to the other( as you look at it from the front ) hence if set at 4mm for example it would take 4mm from the left and around 3 on the other.
Is there a way I can deal with this myself? Or should I let festool deal with it?

If you set at 0 is it 0 all the way across the plate. My thinking is maybe there is some crap in behind the plate. If you can take the plate off and clean any debry not that I know how :-\

Yes blade is all correct, you can actually see the sole plate is wonky from the front, having some rubbish caught up is a good possibility I guess, as it's never been dropped or anything to mess things up that way, I'll have a look later today...

I removed the sole plate and found no deris, put all back together and still out of square, I'll get a pic shortly as you can actually see from the front that it's out.
I tested it on a few pieces and found it to be around 0.5mm out so set at 3mm would take 3mm one side and 2.5 the other.

I haven't used festool servicing yet so am weighing up my options, should I just send it in? It's still under warranty but it's a tool I use pretty much daily so I'll end up having to buy another whilst I don't have it, or I was thinking the the problem must surely lie with the sole plate or the adjusting screw, which I could buy replacements for really cheap anyway.

Obviously since i'm still using it you can see the problem isn't dire but still an annoyance , I tend to use it with 35mm doors so since it's not using the full width , the door edge isn't out as much as the full 0.5mm that the plate is out by, but if you were to make multiple runs from the same side of the door eventually the angle becomes very apparent.

Don't know how good of a relationship you have your local dealer, but I would try to get a lend of planer whilst yours get fixed from the dealer to tide you over. Always worth asking the question

I was thinking about this to be honest, I didn't get the planer from my local dealer as they weren't dealing festool at the time so wasn't sure what they'd think.
As I said, I haven't used festool servicing yet, if I take the planer to my local dealer will they send it off? and will I have to pay anything for that?

I can't speak for them it does depend on how much you spend with them at the moment. If they think you might be going to make future purchases from them in the future they might be willing to help you out. Sending the tool back should cost nothing. I believe you can either take to any dealer or print off a label to send back to festool I have never needed to use. Things like this is why I like to shop local if can and the price is fair

Take it to any dealer for return to festool.  If your dealer can't  give you a free loaner ring festool and ask them to loan you one. I sent my carvex in and rang festool explaining that I needed it asap , as they had a backlog they posted a loan tool to my house,  when mine was done I just dropped it off at the dealer. Who else would do that.

I've had that sort of help with other tools tools that weren't even festool. I think if you're a good customer, dealers like to look after you
