Unusual first Domino project

My DF500 arrived last week. I cut a few test joints and thought about building a table or cabinet, probably the most common Domino projects. However I have seen enough Youtube videos to know the Domino works perfectly well for those projects so I decided to make a little dustpan to use when sweeping up my workbench instead. I wanted to do something that I would have just glued and hoped for the best when clamping before Domino.

4mm dominos used for the bottom panel glue up and the sides. Back is fitted with a spline only glued in the centre. To make it more interesting I only used hand tools to prep the stock and cut all the tapers and mitres. The stock is some 2x8 left over from when I built a drill press stand a couple of years ago.

Bonus shots of recently completed Kindle storage and pencil boxes included.

Hand tools and the domino. Great combo and great work. My cut off pile is getting high. I'm inspired,

Hi Gippy

That is lovely work and you are clearly talented.

As those above, I really like the old fashioned pencil box - I had one at school - charming.

Thanks for the kind comments everybody. The pencil box was fun to make although slightly nerve wracking as you have to cut it in half twice. Once to make the two compartments and again for the angled cut on the upper compartment.
