UPDATE: TSO Prallel Guide Prallax-Free Cursor/Indicator

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, after a little bit more time spent fine-tuning the design, I have it uploaded to Printables and to MakerWorld for those of you with fancy BambuLab printers.

I've made the sloped foot extend to pretty much the very tip, if you don't like it sticking out that far (does not affect any functionality or catch on anything), feel free to sand it down or let me know and I can upload a modified version of it (you can see some of the variations in the pictures).

Please download, print and enjoy a seriously improved utility from your TSO Parallel Guide system (Gen 1).

Thank you to all the folks who send me a PM asking if they can buy this print, that isn't necessary, its here for free. If you're overwhelmingly inclined to send me a buck or two for a Monster/Red Bull (yes, I do actually like both) send me a PM and I'll flip you my email (I'm in Canada).

What I would really appreciate is a "Like" on Printables/MakerWorld (it generates points for makers that can be used to 'buy' stuff from the respective manufacturers), maybe I'll get enough points for a t-shirt or something 😅

If you don't have a 3D printer but happen to live close to the Greater Toronto Area (I'm close to Guelph), and want to drive up to pick up a set, please send me a note and we can figure something out, I printed a few extras for friends who are using the TSO system.

@TRG Thanks for sharing A boost for you on maker world.

Thank you and everyone else for the likes/boosts etc. I honestly just feel good knowing everyone can save $120 USD with only spending a few cents on some plastic.

If anyone in Canada (Toronto area roughly) needs a set or two, let me know, happy to print a couple extra sets and give them out.

TSO should have come up with this solution by themself. Nice work! An instance boost from me.

Interesting approach in keeping the original one in there, but its not strictly speaking necessary since no pressure is applied to the cursor/indicator.

Hope these serve you well and thank you for the boost!

Thanks @TRG I just printed a set out. I didn't feel like messing around with re-calibration so I also left the metal pointer on. I loosened the plunger and slid the new stop between the block and collar and retightened the plunger shaft.

Looking good!

Please let me know how it works out for you.

I didn't use it for a project but did put it on one of the scaled arms and this is perfect (especially since I'm at the point I need to wear "cheaters" for all measurements). Even with 10% off saved me $130 TSO wants for a pair of pro stops.

I'm seeing around 45 people downloading these, so with that math its a decent chunk of change saved for people.

I did send this to TSO, but they didn't respond...sorry TSO, but $130 for a problem that can be solved with 1.8 grams of plastic... I don't know man.

Its not as elegant as a their solution obviously, and there are other benefits in the Gen 2 system, but the only issue I ever found was with the bloody parallax. I was always out by a little bit, which sucked for longer rips. I used this on an 8ft rip yesterday, I was only out by less than half a mm from start to finish.

It’s a double-arrow for me:
  • Cost of the v2 of the fancy new stops
  • Late night squinting at the shiny cursor (eventually covered it with masking tape)

Looking forward to using it. I’ve asked a buddy in another state to print and send.

Let me know how it works out for you, its a 10 minute print, so hopefully your friend sends it to you quickly :)

I printed it on my old Ender 3-Pro. Quickest print I've ever had. I saved so much I'm looking at a new printer ( I gave myself a $500 limit but have my eyes on the new Bambu P2S Combo ).

I printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2 (a 13 year old printer lol)

WIth these prints I am also looking at the Bambu Labs... P2S is also on the list, but the bigger ones are tempting to print the systainer rails more readily and in numbers.

Do you have a link to the systainer rails? Thanks
