Hello, Foggers!
Before we begin the recap of our 2014 Woodworking Show, the entire In Touch Tools team wants to give special thanks to the members of the FOG who joined us -- some of you have been attending our annual shows since they started in 2011, and we think that's just awesome! Also, we need to thank our amazing trainers and presenters, including Steve Bace and Allen Kensley, for their hard work and hand in making this such a great event. Now, let's get into it...
The In Touch Tools Woodworking Show & Training Class is an annual show developed by In Touch Tools to help woodworkers get the most of their tools and see what is available from the leading manufacturers. Hosted in a local 7,000 sq. ft. cabinet shop, attendees enjoy a proper learning environment, surrounded by other enthusiastic woodworkers.

Our doors would open at 7:00 am, which of course to woodworkers only means show up at 6:30! The first to arrive was the great Mr. Carroll Adams and, as we were not prepared to receive guests so early, we put him to work! Mr. Adams manned the check-in desk with me and helped our other guests get situated. Unfortunately, our photographer for the day had not arrived and there is no picture to show for this. [sad] Big thanks, Carroll!
Attendees enjoyed freshly baked croissants, danishes, muffins, and other breakfast pastries from the best and most renowned bakery in all of the Palm Springs area, freshly cut fruit, Starbucks coffee, juices, and other breakfast items.
Dennis Serrano, SawStop Regional Sales Manager, opened our seminars with a discussion about SawStop and mentioned plans for a portable job site saw from SawStop to be released in 2015. An impressive live demonstration of the safety system was performed on the in-house Industrial Cabinet Saw (gasps were heard all around!).

Andy Goldman, Regional Sales Manager for Kreg and Whiteside, followed Dennis with a demonstration of the new K5 Jig from Kreg. He also showcased some of the most popular router bits from Whiteside.

George Blanchfield, Regional Sales Manager for Fein, went next. George had just returned to the US two days before from a Fein sales meeting in Germany, so he was prepared to show us the latest and greatest from Fein -- including new dust collectors, lineup of cordless drills, cordless MultiMaster cordless drill packages, and a brand new MultiMaster, due for release later in July. The new MultiMaster will feature more power, zero vibration, and a significant noise reduction, thanks to rubber mounts on the motor and more copper in the windings.

A 30 minute intermission followed the Fein seminar. During this time, all trainers were available at individual stations for attendees to approach them and receive one on one demos and training. Attendees were also able to see full product line items from the represented manufacturers at this time. We loved seeing everyone take full advantage of the intermissions, turning the In Touch Tools Woodworking Show into a small trade show!

We had a couple of pimped out TS saws displayed that were all the rage...

At this time, our in-house chef fired up the grill to prepare the best carne asada our guests would have. Yeah, food is a big deal to us.

After our first intermission, everyone fastened his or her tool belt (see what I did there?
) for the Festool seminars! Allen Kensley started with a seminar on the TS saws and parallel edge guides, followed by Steve Bace hosting the Multi-Function Table seminar. I think it's safe to say most everyone there did not realize how much they need an MFT/3. ;D

Following our first two Festool seminars, it was time for lunch. Nowhere else will you find carne asada and grilled chicken tacos as good as these! We like to think lunch time is always a highlight for our guests. Not only is the food amazing, but it gives attendees the opportunity to network with each other (as the rest of their time is spent with trainers) and make friends.

Before jumping back into the seminars, demonstrations of the shop's Onsrud CNC Router and Weinig Five-Head Moulder were conducted by the experts. Attendees always get a kick out of these demos!

Allen Kensley then went on with the seminar on the OF Routers, and Steve Bace followed with the Carvex seminar. It's amazing what he can do with that Carvex... [eek]

After another half hour intermission for guests to continue checking in with our trainers, Allen and Steve tag-teamed our final seminar of the day: Domino Joiners.

Finally came the moment everyone had been waiting for: RAFFLE PRIZES! We raffled several incredible prizes:

Sorry for the poor audio quality. [embarassed] Allen didn't want to lend us his audio set (kidding, of course...).
We made sure everyone walked away with In Touch Tools swag in the form of new t-shirts!
Following the raffle drawing was a one hour block for attendees to finish seeing everything from the different manufacturers and trainers, plus it gave them time to fulfill their wish list

WE'LL SEE YOU IN 2015!
