So I got another bug up my rump and decided it was time for a remodel of my shop.

Festool used :   TS55, P-guides, multiple rails,  MFT/3, MFT1080, OF1400, LR32 system, MFK700, CXS, C15, Kapex, CT26, CT midi,

Here is a before shot of my shop....

[attachimg=#]

Here is the problem corner of my shop.  I have to move my Incra table to get to the systainers....

[attachimg=#]

Also, my systainers are stacked in front of each other, making it a pain to get to the one I need....

[attachimg=#]

Time to disassemble and move things around....

[attachimg=#]

The metal peg board is from a Fein display  that I bought from a woodworking store.

[attachimg=#]

Everything moved, time to start the install....

[attachimg=#]

AND BAM! PING!  POW!   I'm on my way to something nice....

[attachimg=#]

[attachimg=#]

Relocated the Kapex station...I'm fighting the thoughts of the UG set.  I'm sure the time will come when I'm over this set up for the Kapex and a
UG set will be waiting for me at the front door.   [embarassed]

[attachimg=#]

Another angle of the sys wall.

[attachimg=#]

I need to order more drawer slides and finish up some painting.  And address my storage for all my clamps.  Plus I have to hang up all my Festool posters and other tool banners.  I'm hoping I get along nicely with this set up for a long time.
Some day I will get to a happy place with my shop.  Some day!   [unsure]

Thanks for looking!

Eric

Where is the Incra Table now?

The Incra table was pushed out to the tree lawn for the trash man to pick up.  I couldn't figure out where to put it, it just kept getting in my  way.

So off to the landfill.  [eek]  [scared]

No, it's on the other side of the MFT/3.    I had pulled the wife's car in and snapped the photos before I can in for the night.

Awesome shop, Eric...very clean and organized!  It came out great.  Certainly a place I would like to spend some time.  My shop is one gigantic mess right now...

That is a very good layout. I am just curious.. where did you hide the unisaw.  [tongue]

What kind of legs did you use on the cabinets next to the Kapex?

Cheers

Well, you weren't lying in one of your videos when you said you're a huge Festool fan :)
On the layout, I think it's a big improvement.
I enjoy your videos and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Nice...except for one HUGE problem.

There is some kind of big white thingy taking up space in your cave.  Who puts those in their workshops?? Wasted space!! [scratch chin]

Me... three thingy man-cave with no thingy's allowed!! [big grin]  That's what the big concrete strip outside is for! [eek]

  Hmm, certain Metal Thingy's with 4 wheels that belong to wives should NOT be messed with unless Husband wants to come home and find all HIS Festool 'thingies' out on the curb...  But I COULD be wrong about that  [wink]

Looks awesome erock ... very impressed with what you have done, You have also given me some inspiration on how better to organise my area.

Thanks guys.

I can not take full credit for the layout.  I watched Rick Christopherson's videos over a year ago and kinda stole his layout.  If you watch his videos, you'll see where I got my insperation from.

The car in the garage doesn't bother me.  It's how I accuired so many Festool tools.  You see.....with big machines in the shop, the wife can not park her car in the garage. But, if I buy Festool tools, they take up less space and she can fit her car in the garage.  So for those cold 15 degree morning when my truck has 4 inches of snow on it...and her car is sitting pretty in the garage....just adds up to more Festools in my shop!  If letting her park her car in the garage helps add to the Festool collection....then I'll make sure she has a spot just big enough for that ride.
But when a project is going on and their is no room for her car, then yes, she parks it on the new driveway.
Sometimes she's parked outside for weeks!  [wink]

Erock,  I need to thank you!  Since selling our house and moving into a new one, I have been banished from working in the garage.  Got too messy, too much dust, too unorganized, etc.  Well, I just showed her this thread and she gave me the thumbs up to use the garage to woodwork!

Nice looking shop/garage!  How do I find those Christopherson videos?

  Banished from the Garage?, IS NOTHING sacred to that woman.. Oh wait, she just gave you an excuse to buy a bunch of new Festools.  Good Luck.... [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Yes, banished! I already have quite a bit of festools, but the problem is that I had done a lot of work in there prior to finding festools and their extractors.

So moving forward, I need to research sysports and dimensions so I can get them cut up and assembled.

Hi Eric,

Are you saying that you are not happy with your Kapex station? I was planning to do something very similar*, but if you say it ain't good, then maybe I'll do something different. What did you use for the extended rails? ... stops? How are they attached to the workbench? ... removable?

(*My plan was to be very similar to yours, but with a slot in the back of the bench behind the the Kapex plus some sort of dust hood over the Kapex, all hooked up to my future ClearVue cyclone.)

Thanks, Dick

Jon,
  If you go to Rick Christopherson's Youtube channel  powertool64  and watch his video "building a drawer with domino and MGS" part 1 or 2

You will see a very sweet Festool set up!
