Upgrading from T15 to T18. Keep old drill accessories or use new ones?

Hello All,

I bought the T15 drill in 2011 and upgraded to the T18 recently.

I noticed the right angle chuck has been updated with some kind of ceramic coating, but the locking ring is now a co-molded ABS/Metal hybrid. Has anyone noticed performance changes with this accessory vs the older model, which had all metal exterior? On the other hand, the offset chuck and centrotec chuck look the same.

I have three different Festool D/Ds...the T12, the T15 and the CSX. All the old accessories work just fine on the newer tools...and I prefer them because they are beefier as you indicate. I do use the lighter weight "new" right angle on the CSX because it preserves the balance better, however. Having multiples hasn't been a problem either sometimes because it allows for having more than one configuration for a job right at hand, even when both need right-angle or both need the traditional chuck, etc., because of what's being done with them.
